How it works
Words are drawn at random from the classic Lorem Ipsum corpus (~80 unique Latin words). Sentences combine 5–15 random words with capitalization and a period; paragraphs combine 3–7 random sentences. The 'classic opening' option starts the output with the traditional 'Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet…' sentence.

- Where does Lorem Ipsum come from?
- It's a corrupted excerpt from Cicero's 'De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum' (45 BC), discovered as filler text in a 1500s typeface specimen book. Some words ('lorem', 'aliquip') are not actually Latin — they're typesetter scramble.
- Is it the same as 'greek text'?
- Different but related. 'Greek text' is a generic term for nonsense placeholder text. Lorem Ipsum is the specific scrambled-Latin variety, and the most widely used.
